Conroy Orthopaedic & Sports Physical Therapy
has the ability to design, fabricate, or implement the orthotic support elements
necessary to aid in a patient's return to health such as braces, air belts, and therapeutic taping.
Taping works like a flexible cast. It returns joint structures to their proper positions and keeps them there, taking the pressure off impinged nerves and stressed ligaments and tendons. This not only provides short-term pain relief but also facilitates faster healing by minimizing recurrent trauma for conditions such as joint pain, strains (muscle tears), sprains (ligament injuries), myositis (inflammation of muscle tissues), and tendinitis (inflammation of tendons). It may also be used to prevent new injuries in susceptible areas.
Therapeutic Taping
– The primary objective with therapeutic taping is to provide support and protection of injured tissues and to facilitate normal movement patterns without excessively limiting a patient’s functional capacity.
